Our first date was at Chili’s in Wylie on March 12th. I can still remember it clearly (no old man jokes there Christy). Before I go any further, I will say that anyone who knows me can say that I am usually reserved and shy at first until I warm up to the person or surroundings. I felt very, very comfortable with Christy from the first time I actually spoke to her on the phone and meeting her in person was no different. It only reinforced it.
We went inside and got a table and sat down. The waitress came over and asked what we wanted to drink and then she asked if I used to work in Farmersville. I said yes. Well, she was a former student of mine when I worked in PE. To this day, Christy will tell you that I wasn’t shy but rather embarrassed by the waitress. I will admit that I was a little embarrassed but am every bit of the shy turtle that I claim to be.
We had a terrific dinner and we spoke like we had known each other forever. I felt very comfortable in speaking to her and I think there was definitely a spark there. The only question was what we were going to do about that spark. To be continued……. :)
