On July 4th, we took a flight to Tulsa where her mother picked us up. It was my first time on an airplane and after we were up in the air, I really enjoyed it. After her mom picked us up, we went to the Best Buy store that her dad is working at this summer. We then went to eat lunch at Chili’s nearby.
That evening, we went out to eat at a very good Mexican restaurant. I really enjoyed the meal. There was a pretty good band up playing while we ate and afterwards, we would watch firewalks from the riverwalk. Her father and I went around the corner to wait for them and I took the opportunity to ask for his blessing to marry his daughter. While I will keep the conversation private, I will say that he and I are both on the same page about Christy, we both want her to be very happy. We watched fireworks before returning home and traveling to Branson the next day.
On Saturday, July 5th, we went to Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede. This was reminiscent of Medieval Times but on a country type of level. It was really fun and I believe we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Christy even spilled her drink at the end, which got us up very quickly.
I had intended to ask Christy to marry me on our Branson trip. After we got home that evening, she went out to the patio. It overlooks the mountains and while it was dark, there was the outline of the mountains and then fireworks and even lightning in the background. I told her that I would be back and went and got the ring and dropped to my knee and asked her to marry me. She will tell you that she should’ve made me wait or thought about it but she said yes.
I think the absolute best of Christy and there is not a day or night that passes that I do not think about her. I mentioned this in another post but she is a blessing to me and has made me so happy. I tell her that I want to make her happy each and every day and that is my goal. She is so awesome!
I cannot wait until March 14th but then again, I have to. I look forward to a long and happy life with her. I mentioned to her when I proposed that her family has taken me in and now, I was asking her to be a part of my family. She means everything to me and always will. Who says dreams can’t come true?
